The Community of Developers (COD) is a broad network of believers supporting the Touching Africa vision, mission and related actions. They no longer want to be bystanders but rather want to actively contribute to being the change they want to see in Africa.

Each member of the COD undertakes to contribute a minimum of R100 monthly (or R1000.00 annually), to be applied in Touching Africa for missions, projects and actions to address challenges in the neighborhood, country and continent.

This network group started as the “Christelike Ondersteunings Diens” (The COD abbreviation referring to “fish” as a prophetic symbol), a Christian Support Service Group managed by the Touching Africa NPC which falls under the management and jurisdiction of the Touching Africa Advisory Board.

Touching Africa undertake to apply income from the COD according to the following principles:  

·       God provides seed for the sower and bread for the eater (2 Corinthians 9:10).  Therefore, half of the COD contributions are capitalized and provide a capital base (seed) for the operational requirements of initiatives and non-bankable community impact projects by Touching Africa.

·       Half of the COD contributions will be allocated to catalytic investments that can act as stepping stones for obtaining of funding and project development while generating positive impact.

·       The support of missions will be prioritised, especially in combination with other projects and initiatives by Touching Africa.   

·       The aim is to support current employment creation, community and neighbourhood, developmental and welfare initiatives; to provide the critical extra resources and inputs to make them flourish and be sustainable.

·       The Touching Africa Executive Committee will oversee and prioritise all expenditure from the COD generated income, and report to the Touching Africa Advisory Board and back to the COD members.

·       The key is to be a basis of cooperation in which each humble contribution count and contribute to make a difference aligned with the Touching Africa vision and mission.
