Isaiah 55:12

You will go out in joy

and be led forth in peace;

the mountains and hills

will burst into song before you,

and all the trees of the field

will clap their hands.”

Part 1 of handmade in Zambia (as seen in the September TAG), I pointed out that when we experience something as impossible, then we know that God can do the impossible. For us as a family, this is a pattern that confirms we should in fact take on a project. Additionally, another pattern pointing out that we are on the right track is when there are obstacles at hand. We have had to face multiple obstacles within this Pecan Project.

For example, there is a specific time frame in which the pecans have to planted – as they still have to be dormant when planted. The trip from South Africa took more than three times longer than planned. However, the Lord gave us promises! In Zechariah 4, we read the story about Zerubbabel who has been chosen by the Lord to rebuild the second temple. He faced obstacle after obstacle. Then, Zechariah gave him the prophetic word from an Angel: So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty. What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel, you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’ Through this story, we knew that the Lord was speaking to us – the mountain we face will become level ground!

God gave us peace knowing that the trees will bear fruit at the right time and we proclaimed this when the trees arrived. We have the authority to speak into nature and life into these trees. John 15:8, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” This is what it is all about – God has a plan to plant these trees with a purpose to bear fruit. In the same way, wherever God plants you, whether in Western Zambia or South Africa; God plants you in that specific place to bear fruit!

We are excited to share testimonies of speaking into nature in the next TAG! Watch this space.
